Endgame operates similarly to extraction-style shooters, where players enter a match to improve their abilities, raise their Combat Rating, and escape with their gains. With the new patch, the game now takes a snapshot of your Combat Rating as soon as you load into an Endgame session. If a crash or disconnect happens, you’ll still begin your next match with that saved Combat Rating instead of being reset to zero. This prevents accidental progress loss while still maintaining the high-risk nature of the mode—if you die or fail to extract, you’ll still lose everything earned after the snapshot.

Treyarch confirmed that the team is already looking at “more robust” disconnect protection options for the future. This update arrives just ahead of Season 1, which launches on December 4 and brings major additions to Endgame, including world events and iconic boss encounters like the zombie T-Rex from Black Ops 6 and the massive Origins robot from Black Ops 2 Zombies.

The early patch notes emphasize that the snapshot system is only the beginning, but it’s already a major quality-of-life improvement for players grinding toward higher Combat Ratings.
